Meet Our Staff
The Providence Animal Rescue League is proud of the compassionate, qualified individuals who comprise our executive, administrative and animal care teams. PARL prides itself on the quality of care we provide for the thousands of animals and people that come to PARL for our assistance on a yearly basis.
Executive Director
Virginia Hanbridge

Virginia Hanbridge brings more than twenty years of experience in management, marketing and fundraising to her role as Executive Director. Her passion for helping animals has been a driving force throughout her life and she is thrilled to build on PARL’s rich history. As the Executive Director at the Lakes Region Humane Society in New Hampshire, Ms. Hanbridge successfully led a capital campaign to build a new animal shelter. She served as the Director of Development and Marketing for the New Hampshire SPCA, leading a capital campaign for a state-of-the-art adoption and education center. As the Leadership Gifts Director for the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) she provided important funding to support international programs preventing animal abuse and disaster relief for animals throughout the world.
Ms. Hanbridge has also dedicated her time and experience to numerous other animal welfare organizations. She is a past board member of the NH Federation of Humane Societies and is currently a board member of Ocean State Animal Coalition. She, her husband and her son happily share their home with their four legged family members – dogs Sophie and Murphy and cats Jack and Madeline – all adopted (of course)!

In 2002, she began working at the Boys & Girls Club of America in Providence, RI. For the next few years, she continued to work with children, as well as adults, with developmental disabilities.
