PARL has seen a striking increase in the number of surrendered animals that require critical medical care. In response, we launched Betsy’s Second Chance Fund.
This new fund provides medical care and surgery, including spay/neuter, to adoptable animals. This may include medications, surgery, and treatment that would otherwise be outside of the scope of regular medical care provided in an animal shelter. This fund will also support the general operation of the Animal Welfare and Veterinary Departments. |

PARL is a member of Eastside Marketplace's Friendship Fund. The Friendship Fund is a receipt/rebate program that allows us to collect and turn in Eastside Marketplace receipts and receive back 1% of their total value as a donation from the Friendship Fund. We Recycle Cell Phones!
If you're wondering what to do with your old cell phones, then give them to PARL! We recycle these items in exchange for funds to help us provide care and find new homes for the many pets at PARL.
Worried about the personal information on your old cell phone?
Don't be. You can download directions on how to completely erase data from your cell phone using Wirelessrecycling.com's Cell Phone Data Eraser search tool. Just search for the make and model of your phone and download the instructions.
Why Donate To PARL?
In addition to providing animal care and adoption services for over 1,500 animals per year, we provide:
- Nationally-recognized education programs, including our new Baby Ready Pets workshops for expectant parents, in cooperation with the Rhode Island SPCA.
- A community spay/neuter program to reduce the number of unwanted puppies and kittens. To date, 20,000 surgeries have been performed.
- Microchipping, an innovative identification system for all our adopted animals, and microchipping service to community animals, so a lost pet will have a way home.
