Life Enrichment Animal Program (L.E.A.P.)

Have you heard about PARL's Life Enrichment Animal Program? L.E.A.P. assists adopters with pets who need extra help transitioning into a new home. Many shelter animals require additional, post-adoption support, such as training and socialization tools, to help them and their new humans succeed together. L.E.A.P exists to provide those tools. Sometimes something as simple as a crate or puzzle toy, and often, more involved post-adoption support such as a voucher covering training sessions to remedy reactive or fear-based behaviors.

Mykonos (pictured right) is one such beneficiary of L.E.A.P. Mykonos is a sweet pup who needed training for separation anxiety. Our L.E.A.P. Fund allowed Mykonos' owner to bring her home knowing they had the support of a behavioral specialist.

L.E.A.P. isn't just for dogs. Cats sometimes require post-adoption support too. Bella was adopted this year with a history of house-soiling issues, one of the most common reasons for a returned feline. L.E.A.P. provided the behavioral support necessary to remedy the issue and keep Bella and her owner together.

L.E.A.P. lets us empower our adopters so they're equipped with the tools needed to support their new pet. These tools are often the difference between a permanent placement and a returned adoption. Please consider a donation to L.E.A.P Fund so we can continue to provide each and every shelter animal their best chance at success!
