PARL has an amazing opportunity thanks to the folks at Gallery Z. We were chosen as the non-profit organization to host their Public Art Window for the month of March! All month long, the front window of Gallery Z at 259 Atwells Avenue will be showcasing PARL's mission and services. And that's not all...on Thursday March 29th, join us at Gallery Z from 5pm - 7pm for an "Art, Food & Wine" event. Peruse some fabulous art, enjoy a bite to eat and drink as you help support the homeless animals at PARL.

Here's what Gallery Z has to say about this space: "The Public Art Window at Gallery Z aims to work with different non-profit organizations to bring a specific message of awareness to the community every month. Here at Gallery Z, we believe that "public art" belongs to every person and should memorialize the past or educate the public on current events. It should foster a sense of pride and belonging in the community, as well as making it a more aesthetically pleasing location. We believe that public art is essential to creating a strong community"

Home sweet home for 66 parl residents in December!

We're happy to share with you that sixty-six cats, dogs and small animals were adopted and "Home 4 the Holidays" during December. There were many long-time residents who found their perfect match such as Ruby pictured here. Ruby was with us for over 200 days and waited patiently for just the right person to finally see all of her potential. On behalf of Ruby, Precious, Gina, Gabby and the many others, we thank our community members who realize adoption is the best option! Wanna see their faces? A Gift of Kindness to the Animals

A parl supporter is remembered

The Kenyon Family, of Warwick RI, stopped by PARL on Wednesday December 28th to make a very special memorial donation in honor of their son, Kory. Kory was a regular visitor to PARL and as we’re told by his family, helped many animals find their forever homes over the years by sharing stories of the pets that he encountered during his visits here at the shelter. The Kenyon’s family and friends raised over $500, along with many in kind gifts for the animals at PARL. From everyone here at PARL, THANK YOU for your kindness and generosity!

JDI Productions is a True PARL Partner!

Donations for the animals
Some of you may remember the fabulous lighting that set the stage for our annual event, The Rescue, last November. It, along with thousands of dollars worth of equipment and services, has been donated to PARL by the animal-loving company, JDI Productions for the past few years. This December, JDI also paired up with a fellow company, Emergency Productions for their annual Christmas party and had a little fun...they "auctioned off" on of their employees, Pete, to the tune of $1,800 and they donated it all to PARL! They also purchased $100 worth of items that were on our Wish List. On behalf of all of us at PARL, thank you from the bottom of our human, fuzzy and furry hearts! You guys ROCK!

PARL's Custom Notecards

This year's theme for our custom color notecards is "happy tails." It was a tough decision to choose only eight images and stories from the hundreds that we received from our adopters but I think that we did well. We are happy to announce that Rambo, Rascal, Clyde, Bud, Boris, Charlie and Buddy are leading the way and proving that "love IS adoptable at 34 Elbow Street! Notecards are available for purchase for $15/pack or $2.95 per card at the shelter as well as at Dogs in Harmony and Woof Woof Pet Boutique.
