Since 1990, Southern New England has woken up with Al, the foodie half of the successful Paul & Al radio show at rock station 94WHJY in Providence. Organic gardener, home cook, hungry and thirsty traveler, father, and Iron Chef stalker, Al's off-air life is all about food for family and friends, from curing and smoking his own bacon to making his own honey liqueur. You can check out Al’s foodie blog here. Al has been a judge for our event for three years, back for his fourth….he’s ready to see what’s cookin’for 2016!
Now in his 4th season with the New England Patriots, Super Bowl Champion Cornerback Logan Ryan has certainly made an impact. He has collected 11 career interceptions, leading the team in 2015. With a big appetite off the field, he spends his free time in the kitchen or local restaurants, appreciating the art of comfort food. The bigger, the better! As a Chopped fanatic, Logan looks forward to spending another year as one of our culinary competition judges!
Cynthia J. Salvato
Cynthia J. Salvato is the author of The Dowry Cookbook and a certified executive pastry chef. She taught in the International Baking and Pastry Institute at Johnson & Wales University's College of Culinary Arts for more than a decade. As a result of her passion for teaching, Chef Salvato was a finalist for the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) Award of Excellence as Teacher of the Year in 2003. Chef Salvato also helped produce a cooking show called Ciao Italia with Mary Ann Esposito and styled photographs for the spinoff cookbook, "Ciao Italia Pronto." In October 2014, Cindy and Savoring Rhode Island received the Providence Warwick Convention and Vistors Bureau "Member of the Year" award.
