$5 Adoption Fees For Group of FIV+ Cats

A very special group of cats, Elma, Simba & Kipling are in need of loving homes! During the month of December, their adoption fees will be reduced to just $5! Our tried and true adoption process will still apply as well as our adoption package that includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip and more. They are all FIV+ and although they can often have similar life expectancy to cats without FIV, there are special needs to consider.

What is FIV?
FIV stands for feline immunodeficiency virus. FIV typically causes a weakening of the cat's immune system.

Can FIV be transmitted to me or my other pets?
Only cats can get FIV; people and dogs cannot. FIV cats should ideally live with no other cats, or with another FIV+ and can also live with dogs.

Can FIV be treated?
There are no proven treatments to rid a cat of FIV. Most FIV-positive cats handle the disease well, but it is important to have extra routine vet visits to monitor their health and well-being.

Can FIV-positive cats have a good and long life?
Yes, FIV+ cats can live normal lives, both in quality and duration. They just need to be monitored for infections and dental issues. But if they’re well cared for, they can be healthy, happy, wonderful pets.
