In late August, a caring person brought in 11 underweight kittens that were found abandoned in a neighborhood garage. At just a month old, some were bright and alert while others were very lethargic. All needed baths and veterinary exams. Sadly, one of the kittens, Peridot, was diagnosed with a severe congenital malformation that was not treatable and he did not survive. The other kittens were diagnosed with upper respiratory infections and while most are improving, some are still struggling to gain weight and others are experiencing gastrointestinal upset. The road ahead for these sweet souls is still long and full of unknowns, but with your help, we can give these kittens the best chance for a happy and healthy future.
Prices for essential supplies, food, and medications that we need to help these kittens have greatly increased. We need your help to to support Spinel, Jasper, Steven, Bismuth, Rose, Fluorite, Amethyst, Garnet, Pearl, and Lapis in the coming weeks and months. We estimate the cost of their care from intake to adoption to be at least $2,000 per kitten -- and much more for those with continued medical challenges.
Your donation to PARL's Betsy's Fund will help cover the cost of care for these kittens and others like them, helping them to grow healthy and strong and giving them the second chance they so deserve! We'll be sure to share updates and news of their progress through this page. On behalf of The Mighty Ten, thank you for your kindness and generosity!

SEPTEMBER 26, 2022 - The kittens are doing well and growing stronger and healthier every single day! That also means that they are eating more kitten food (wet and dry) and using cat litter more quickly. Your donations are still needed and appreciated! Thank you!
