Providence Animal Rescue League is committed to helping animals and the people who love them. The work of our volunteers are essential to our efforts. Volunteers help care for animals, assist the community through free and affordable local events, and spread the word about our vital work. Our volunteers not only make a difference to PARL, but to the entire Rhode Island community.
Fostering a shelter animal saves lives by giving them a safe, loving home while they wait for adoption. It’s a rewarding way to make a difference—without the long-term commitment.
We are looking for dedicated animal lovers to join our foster team and provide temporary care for our animals. Fostering with PARL can be a short commitment (a few days to 3 weeks) or a long commitment (3 weeks to a few months) depending on what you are interested in. You can choose to foster just one time or many, many times! Either way, you are making a difference, and with your help, we will be able to take in and place more animals!
Our work provides critical and life saving services and programs to over 3,000 dogs, cats, and small animals in Rhode Island.
As you know, costs are rising and our organization, like many others, faces an uncertain financial climate. Rising costs for veterinary care, supplies, medications, labor, and pet food are significantly impacting our ability to serve animals in need. With so many animals depending on us—and new ones arriving every single day—we can't bear the heartbreaking possibility of not being able to answer the call for help.
This is where you come in. Your donation not only helps us care for the animals currently at PARL but also ensures we’re ready to meet the needs of every animal who will come to us in the weeks and months ahead. Together, we can make 2025 a year of hope, healing, and new beginnings for animals in need. Thank you!
