Director of Donor Impact (full-time)

The Director of Donor Impact is responsible for identification, research, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors. The primary objective of the Director of Donor Impact is to connect donor interests, passions, and values with the mission, programs, and strategic goals of Providence Animal Rescue League, helping donors make an impact that is most meaningful for them.

Demonstrated professional experience with a successful history in major gift solicitation is required.

Relief Vet for Spay/Neuter - Part-time (6-12 hours/week)

Providence Animal Rescue League is seeking a part-time veterinarian to join our spay/neuter team, supporting our efforts to reduce pet overpopulation in Rhode Island through high quality spay/neuter surgery! The position includes a set schedule of one or two days per week (9am-3pm) performing spay/neuter surgeries on shelter and public animals. Our trained support staff is in place to assist with all aspects of patient care, including two surgery techs for each shift. We have an experienced Medical Services Manager that will manage the day-to-day tasks, scheduling patients, DVM scheduling, staff supervision, and inventory.

Veterinarian responsibilities include:

  • Perform canine and feline spay and neuter surgeries
  • Perform and maintain sterile techniques for all surgeries
  • Perform pre and post-operative examinations on all patients each day
  • Monitor all patient’s health and wellbeing throughout your shift
  • Communicate with clients as needed
  • Provide strong and compassionate leadership
  • Perform surgical recheck exams as needed
  • Work in conjunction with PARL’s Shelter Veterinarian to maintain compliance with PARL’s policies and protocols
  • Occasionally provide exams and consultations for shelter animals if PARL's Shelter Veterinarian is away

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed veterinarian in the state of Rhode Island
  • Able to skillfully perform multiple surgeries in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to our mission and purpose to support pets in our community

Fear Free Certification and experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter surgery is welcomed. Option to perform rabbit spay and neuters. We are open for surgery Monday – Friday. No weekends or major holidays! We offer a competitive relief vet rate based on surgical experience.

Program Internships 

The Program Intern is an unpaid position offering job experience and hands-on learning opportunities through Providence Animal Rescue League’s (PARL) operations and community outreach programs and fundraising events. This intern position provides room for creativity and initiative in the planning, facilitation, and promotion of community events and organization of several programs. The role includes some administrative tasks and the chance to work closely with employees at all levels of the organization. We’re open to customizing an opportunity to fit your unique school requirements!
